St Julian's Church

New entrance building, cloakroom and kitchen facilities, St Albans

New Build welcoming entrance, accessible toilets and kitchen

St Julian's Church is a 1950's church serving the Cotton Mill Estate.  In addition to the enthusiastic congregation the church is also the base for many community groups and used daily by local people from babies to elderly people.  The church needed a new welcoming entrance vestibule, accessible toilets and a more spacious kitchen.

Elbourn Architects worked closely with the PCC to agree a detailed design and guide them through the whole building process.  The Construction phase was complicated by the need to keep the Church functioning throughout the build. St Julian’s have since opened a thriving Community Café making full use of their improved facilities.
