Partner and Director (Elbourn Architects Ltd. 2003 – Present) of Architects Practice.
Designing new buildings, extensions to and refurbishments of existing buildings, obtaining Planning Permissions, Listed Building Consents and Building Control Approvals, carrying out detailed design and administering Building Contracts during construction.
1998 to 2002: Jennifer Elbourn RIBA
From 1998 to 2002 Jennifer worked on repairs and extensions to historic structures for her own clients. Her major projects during this time included the repair conversion and extension of a seventeenth century barn near Windsor, an extensive new build house in Chalfont St Giles and the conversion of a Victorian mews into a Montessori Nursery School.
1993 to 1998: Project Architect: Sell Wade Postins
With Sell Wade Postins, Jennifer was project architect for repair and extension schemes for the National Trust and private clients including several churches, the former monastic buildings Priory Cottages, Cobham Hall School, a grade I listed historic house, Home Farm, a severely fire damaged medieval hall house and Lawrence Street, a Georgian town house.
1988 to 1993: Gordon Bowyer, Julian Harrap, Roderick Ham
After qualifying in 1989 Jennifer Elbourn worked for various architectural practices mainly on historic buildings. With Gordon Bowyer and Partners she assisted on several projects for IBM and at Windsor Castle and was project architect for a new education room at the Cabinet War Rooms museum. With Julian Harrap she worked on repairs to a variety of historic buildings. With the theatre architect Roderick Ham she was project architect for repairs to the Royal Court Theatre facade and carried out feasibility studies for many other theatres and performance spaces.
